ELK RIVER HIGH SCHOOL BANDS
The Elk River Band Program is dedicated to providing an exciting and enriching musical experience for all students. Our bands are the Concert Band and WInd Symphony. From those bands, other ensembles such as Jazz Band, Pep Band, the Big Black Abyss pit orchestra, Chamber Ensemble are formed. Students from these groups often participate in our district music programs as well, the 728 Cadets Marching Band and the River Valley Percussion Theater.
The Elk River Band Program offers more opportunity for students here than most can take advantage of, so find what interests and challenges you and get involved! The students that excel will have the opportunity for Honor Concert Bands, Orchestras and Jazz Ensembles. These Honor programs are a privilege for outstanding musicians in grades 9-12. The music department also offers 6 different semester long music classes: Music Theory, Guitar 1 and 2, Music Tech 1 and 2, and the History of Rock and Roll. Band Students are required to have the following:

Band Students are required to have the following:
- A properly functioning instrument or the required sticks
- Instrument Accessories. (i.e. Reeds, Valve Oil, Cleaning Supplies, mutes etc.)
- A metronome/tuner and a pencil for class everyday
- A flip book or a 3 ring binder.
- A Pep Band Jacket and the proper concert attire depending on the band.
